Swedish Business Awards 2007
Swedish Business Awards 2007 were held in the State Small Theatre of Vilnius on the 3rd of October. The event was attended by more than two hundred Swedish and Lithuanian guests.
The event began by an on-stage dialogue between the hosts - the Ambassador of Sweden to Lithuania Mrs. Malin Kärre and the Executive Officer of the Swedish Trade Council in Lithuania Mr. Mantas Zalatorius.
A quote from the opening speech of Mrs. Malin Kärre: "The event of Swedish Business Awards was started last year by the Swedish Embassy and the Swedish Trade Council in Vilnius, together with our partners Hansabankas and Telia Sonera. Our aim is to have a forum where the longstanding business relations between Sweden and Lithuania are highlighted and further developed."
A quote from the opening speech of Mr. Mantas Zalatorius: "In order to adapt to recent changes, I believe, we need to start thinking wider and start acting together. However no action will be successful if we do not understand each other. That is not the easiest, but the only way to achieve world class performance."
H. E. President of the Republic of Lithuania Mr. Valdas Adamkus noted the importance of building and strengthening close and constructive relations between Lithuania and Sweden: "I would like to point out that Lithuania has set itself a challenge of reaching the average GDP level of the EU by 2020. This is possible to achieve if we maintain a "winning mindset" to carry through reforms, take over the best practices and innovate through greater integration of our markets."
Mr. Fons Trompenaars, the world-class management guru and writer, shared his experiences in one of the key elements of global business - cross-cultural management.
The Awards' ceremony was held by the Ambassador of Sweden to Lithuania Mrs. Malin Kärre and the Executive Officer of the Swedish Trade Council in Lithuania Mr. Mantas Zalatorius.
The award of the Fastest growing Swedish company in Lithuania won UAB Swecon.
The winner of the Corporate Social Responsibility award was the project undertaken by AB SEB Vilniaus Bankas together with the Lithuanian Children's Foundation for supporting 10 orphans until they reach 18 years of age.
UAB Gambro Healthcare Lietuva was awarded as the Innovator of the year for their project of integrating 11 clinics into one organization, thus reforming the dialysis service market.
